3 Font Pairings in Squarespace for Female Brands

I set out to provide font pairings available in Squarespace, but I got a little carried away…

I find it hard to simply pair fonts without purpose, so I created a mood board for three unique styles: wine chic, boho chic and urban chic. Then, I matched those styles with font pairings.

If you ask me, it’s always best to design with purpose and some parameters.

Style: Wine Chic

I’m calling this first one “wine chic”. She is a savvy businesswoman that owns a winery. Her brand is pretty, bright, and luxurious.

Font pairings: Operetta and Poppins

Style: Boho Chic

Next is “boho chic”. This lifestyle blogger excels in femininity. The style is attractive, delicate, and glows softly.

Font pairings: Angie Pro and Brandon Grotesque

Style: Urban Chic

Last is “urban chic”. This creative social media influencer lives and breathes fashion and urban nightlife. She loves sharing the city’s hotspots and what’s trending with her loyal Instagram followers.

Font pairings: Interstate Compress and Freight Text

Some hard and fast rules about typography:

  1. Paired fonts should always contrast.

  2. The best paired fonts have similar attributes like the overall shape.

  3. Two fonts are more than enough to represent a brand. If you choose to add a third, make it an accent font like a script.

I love typography.

I’m a self-declared type nerd. I’m the type of designer that can look at a font and tell its name, and adore the details in a font’s shape and size. Not to mention its historical purpose.
